Today’s knit stitch pattern is called Textured Ribbons from the Knit Stitch Pattern Handbook by Melissa Leapman. It combines blocks of reverse stockinette and slipped stitches. I’ve been experimenting with several slip stitch designs including this one that I knit a few months ago.
I used this lovely yarn called Cocoon by Voolenvine Yarns for this swatch. It is Aran weight and I used U.S. Size 8 knitting needles and cast on 31 stitches. The pattern is a 6 stitch repeat. There are 12 rows to the pattern and this swatch is 2 and a half repeats of the pattern.
I’ll be designing a cowl that incorporates this stitch pattern in the upcoming months. I believe knitting this pattern in the round on circular needles will create a lovely fabric that is ideal for keeping your neck warm in the cold weather.
