In April 2013, I traveled to Italy for my first visit. In my travels, I discovered 3 yarn shops. This blanket incorporates the yarn that I purchased in a small shop outside of Parma. In this post, I discuss my visit and this yarn find. Here’s Sunrise in Italy
The center of each of these 15 inch log cabin squares is the Adriafil New Zealand Print yarn that I purchased that day.
The blanket consists of 12 squares. I complimented the center souvenir yarn with Berroco Vintage yarn picking up the cream, rose, and blue in the center yarn. The final outer edge is a color called Blue Moon, a deep blue green that outlines each square. Sewing them together 4 squares in length and 3 squares across, the finished size is approximately 45 inches wide and 60 inches long. I still have to weave in the ends.
My new lounge chair in my new sunroom is the ideal place for this blanket. I expect to take my early morning coffee out there and enjoy it wrapped in my blanket. When the blanket is not in use, I have it in a zippered vinyl bag to keep in clean and free from the early morning dampness.
Now to find a nice colorful outdoor rug to complete this spot.
Do you have a favorite spot to relax, knit, read, or maybe just be still for a little while?
