Today’s knit stitch pattern is from the Barbara Walker Treasury of Knitting Patterns. It is named the Pavilion Pattern and I think it is wonderful! This pattern is done with simple knit and purl stitches and creates these diamond shapes. I warn you, though, there is a lot of counting.
The stitch pattern is 18 stitches wide and 36 rows long. I cast on 2 repeats (36 stitches) so that I could show you the diamond pattern. I knit a total of 48 rows in order for the diamond to be complete. As usual, I used my U.S. size 7 knitting needles and worsted weight yarn.
I think this stitch pattern would look great incorporated into a tote bag or a laptop sleeve. What do you think? How would you use this stitch pattern?
