On a recent trip to one of the area yarn shops that I don’t often visit, I found a sample of this baby hat. I was immediately drawn to the design. The pattern was free with the purchase of one skein of Berroco Comfort Chunky.
Although this baby hat looks complicated, it is incredibly simple to knit. It is knit in the round using size 11 needles. There are only 21 rounds to the pattern, four of them being the cable rounds. The rest of the rounds are knit.
I finished this hat in an afternoon. The perfect instant gratification knitting project. The results are sure to impress non-knitters.
The skein has 150 yards which is enough for two hats.
So now I’m off to see what other chunky yarns are in my stash and make a few more of these. Then next time I need a quick baby gift, they’ll be ready and waiting to keep a newborn warm.
