January is the perfect month to finish a cozy blanket to cover me while I read. This one has been on my knitting needles since last Fall and I finished it yesterday.
Once again I turned to my favorite knitting patterns in the Plymouth Yarn #638 Done by Monday Afghans book. These blankets are a breeze to knit. I used my Size 13 Addi Turbo 32 inch circular needles and 10 balls of Encore Worsted Yarn. For this afghan, I used one strand of Plymouth Encore Colorspun No. 7402, a white yarn with specks of blue and yellow and one strand of solid white held together.
The pattern is Boxes Afghan #4. Here’s a close up of the stitch pattern and I think you can see the slight specks of color.
This yarn was in my stash and so I’ve again changed my stash yarn into a wonderful and useful project. I purchased this yarn several years ago on a day trip to visit a yarn store that was close to the Beach. It was a beautiful day for a ride and I always enjoy exploring different yarn stores.
And just to share a beautiful flower. Here’s my Amaryllis in Bloom. This plant has 4 blossoms growing from one stem.
I didn’t know that it was possible for more than one blossom to grow on a single stem. Maybe it’s a Special Sign of something wonderful on the horizon.
I love your blanket! You've also got quite the green thumb!
