Here it is! Finished and ready to wear. This is one of my favorite knitting projects EVER!
The yarn is by Manos del Uruguay in my favorite shades of green. Every one that knows me, knows that green is my color. I purchased this yarn five years ago on a trip to Maryland but couldn’t find the right pattern for it.
Then the fall 2010 issue of Knit Simple Magazine came out and included this pattern. It’s number 16, short sleeve cardi. This sweater is knit in one piece from the hem up to the underarms, then the sleeves are knit on double pointed needles and added to the body before completing the yoke and neckline. Finally adding on the button bands.
It was a pleasure to knit and the seed stitch and the gauge made it go quickly. Done on size 9 needles with a gauge of 14 stitches to 4 inches. The dark green contrasting band is done with 4 rows of garter stitch.
Finally, I chose clear buttons so that they wouldn’t distract from the lines of the sweater.
I didn’t get a picture of this sweater on me but it fits beautifully. I know that I’ll wear this sweater often.
I saw Debbie in the finished sweater the other day and it looks amazing. I have known Deb for years and am always impressed with her finished products.
