Here’s two different fingerless gloves that I knit up yesterday. I really wish I had started these sooner as they will make great gifts for several of my friends. Time is such an issue for me. I just don’t have enough time between the idea for a project and the due date for the finished project.
I really enjoyed making these. Started yesterday morning and finished both by the end of the day. Today, I’m working on the second white one and tomorrow, I’ll make the second multicolored one. Then, if I can fit it in, I’d like to make two more pairs by Wednesday morning. Sounds a little too ambitious but I do this to myself all the time.
The pattern that I used is from Creative Knitting Magazine. They show this basic ribbed glove in DK weight, worsted, and chunky weight. The multicolored one is from Galway worsted weight wool and the white one is made with Snuggle by Alpaca Company. These fingerless gloves are an excellent way to use all those single skeins of yarn that are in my stash. I think,I’ll make several pairs when I’m home next week and take them to my office. Maybe I’ll find some takers in January.
In addition to the pair I spoke about in my last post, I found a pattern by Ganiggle Knits on Ravelry. It’s a worsted weight fingerless glove with seed stitch and a nice cable stitch.
All of a sudden, I’m fascinated with these fingerless gloves. I found dozen of patterns of Ravelry in the last week.
Meantime, I just finished the shrug for one of my colleagues. It’s the same pattern that I made for myself and posted about on October 18, 2009. This one is a nice shade of sage green. I’ll deliver it tomorrow and hope she likes it as much as I do.
