Here is my latest finished project, just off the needles and with the ends weaved in! This is one of my favorite shawls ever made. The pattern was in one that my LYS made out of a mohair yarn but I decided to make it using cotton for the summer. I used Rowan Purelife Organic DK cotton. This yarn is wonderful. It is so soft and I chose the palest of greens Shade 992. The pattern called for the ties to be finished square but I decided to round them by decreasing at the beginning of the row for the last 2 inches. I also added a buttonhole so I can slip one of the tie through the other tie. I find this is really comfortable especially when I’m working.
I am sure this shawl is going to be used often. It just proves that project can be finished in a timely manner. I purchased the yarn on April 24, 2009 and finished today. Of course, I spent time working on other projects during the same time period. I find it impossible to work on one project at a time.
Now back to my Pleated neck top. Maybe I can finish it in time to wear this season. I’m also working on a pair of socks that I started quite awhile ago. And the Beaded scarf, i posted several weeks ago.
So many projects, not enough knitting time.
Off to watch Army Wives, one of the only shows I really enjoy. Gives me the idea to do some volunteer knitting for those mom’s raising their children while their husbands are in the service.
Very nice and I'm amazed at your speedy knitting. We like Army Wives, too.
Beautiful shawl!
