I’ve started by knitting the traditional diagonal dishcloth. Cast on 3 stitches, then increase at the beginning of each row until it’s as wide as you’d like it to be. Then start the decreases until your back to 3 stitches. I am making these rectangular right now. I’ve started with the variegated yarns that I like the least and mixed them with a solid color. Using Size 11 needles and 2 strands held together (one Variegated and one solid), I’m finding that I can complete a good sized dishcloth in about an hour and a half.
Work has been busy the last few days, so I’ve only managed about a half hour of knitting in the AM and another half hour in the PM. Also, today I began another series of Children’s beginner knitting lessons at my LYS. I have been teaching for quite awhile and find that my young students are really fun to work with and learn the knit stitch quickly. I’m looking forward to the weekend, when I have more knitting time available. Also, I should be able to post some photos of the finished dishcloths.
